Rothermich, Lieutenant Governor
I wanted to be elected lieutenant governor for a two main reasons. I wanted to give back to my home club and the desire to serve the Missouri-Arkansas District of Key Club.
I have a few favorite Key Club projects. Whether it was building homes with Habitat for Humanity or cheering on athletes at the Special Olympics, nothing makes you feel better than serving those in need. My favorite project over the past few years was Habitat for Humanity. With Habitat, we were able to do hands on work actually putting up framework for houses. Whenever I drive by the homes our Key Club help to build, I get a good feeling and I say to myself, “I did that, I helped put a roof over the heads of that family.” Aside from building homes, I loved being at the Special Olympics. Sitting in the stands and cheering for the athletes. When the athletes heard us cheering for them, their faces lit up. The joy on the faces of those Olympians was inspiring.
I have a few goals I want to accomplish during my year as lieutenant governor. A few of the clubs in my division are not as active as others. My goal is to help those clubs become more activate and visible in the community through service and interclub activities. I would also like to charter at least one new club in the division.
